Dear Parents,
As per IBCC’s recent announcement regarding equivalence of Cambridge qualifications, below are two important points related to Cambridge exams for the O Level / IGCSE and A Level classes of 2021:
- All Cambridge O Level / IGCSE and A Level students who have secured A* in a subject in 2021, will be able to get more than 90 marks in equivalence based on a formula being worked out by IBCC.
- All O level / IGCSE students who sat the Cambridge Replacement Exams in July/ August 2021 are eligible to receive equivalence if they have taken the exams of 5 subjects (Mathematics, English and three electives), without taking the compulsory subjects of Urdu, Pakistan Studies and Islamiyat. Students have the choice of taking these exams (Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat and Urdu) in October / November 2021 or a future exam series, if they wish.
Based on the communication above, if our current A1 students who have registered to take the exams of Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat and/or Urdu in Oct/Nov 2021 now wish to withdraw, they are required to fill out the withdrawal form (link here) and submit it to the school office for the process to be initiated.
This option is not suggested by the school. The school wishes to ensure that our students avoid any possible or unpredicted disadvantage in the future.
We recommend that before reaching a final decision the school management is consulted in order to understand the possible implications of this withdrawal. We hope that the decision you take proves to be in the best interest of your child.
The last date to submit the withdrawal form is Friday, September 10, 2021.
If you have any further questions, please contact the school office.
