Dear Students and Parents,
Cambridge has released an updated version of FAQs as Pakistan June 2021 series FAQs – 30 April 2021 at 12:21 am, 1 May 2021. The updated communication states the following:
- Cambridge International A Level candidates should take all their exams.
- Cambridge International AS Level exams, taken as part of linear route A Levels, are going ahead as planned. The linear route is sometimes referred to as the full A Level, composite route or accelerated A Level.
- Candidates who are entered for the AS Level as a standalone qualification must not turn up to the examination venue.
- Candidates who are entered for the AS Level in the June 2021 series and who intend to complete their A Level in a later series must not take the AS Level exams in the June 2021 series, but take the AS Level exams in a future series.
It is also stated that all these decisions are made to reduce the number of candidates taking exams at any one time and is in accordance with the government of Pakistan’s decision to allow Cambridge International A Level exams to go ahead.
In light of this our understanding is that the MJ 2021 exam series is only going ahead for A level composite and A2.
We are thankful to Cambridge for clearing up the status of AS Level exam as it was causing a lot of speculation and anxiety amongst our students and parents and was earlier left to the interpretation of schools.
We understand that this is a stressful time for everyone and would like to assure you that we are doing everything possible to keep our BSS families updated of any recent developments. Meanwhile, we trust that you and your families are staying safe.
Regards,
Beaconhouse Administration
